A Monday afternoon on November 6th turned out pleasant with sunny skies and milder temperatures, showcasing the solar arrays overlooking the Brightonwoods Orchard, our Renewable Energy Social site. The RENEW Wisconsin Energy Fund (RWEF), with event sponsors Arch Solar and Sunrun, hosted this Spotlight Event at the Orchard in Burlington, Wisconsin.
The RENEW Wisconsin Energy Fund was honored to welcome special guests Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Voss (District 63), whose district includes this area, Representative Nik Rettinger (District 83), and Representative Bob Wittke (District 62), from nearby assembly districts to the event. Joining the policymakers were representatives from the solar industry, the RWEF Board of Directors, and interested parties.
The discussion focused primarily on the community solar legislative efforts and net metering policies that have a significant impact on the solar industry. Participants had the opportunity to share their experiences with the lawmakers. Nearly 30 guests filled the sales house, networking and enjoying fresh cider and fruit wine paired with cheeses, apples, and pies.
